I am the Clinical Director of Wasatch Family Therapy’s Lehi, Utah office, where I oversee a team of eight therapists while maintaining an active caseload of 20–25 clients each week. In addition to providing therapy, I offer clinical supervision and consultation to clinicians with a variety of specialties. I am currently completing supervision with Jordan Rullo, PhD, CST-S, toward certification as an AASECT Certified Sex Therapy Supervisor (CST-S).
My specialty is helping individuals and couples overcome the barriers that prevent emotional and sexual intimacy. Much of my work focuses on desire discrepancies, sexual avoidance, and the lasting effects of shame. Living and practicing in Utah, I frequently work with clients whose sexuality has been shaped by high-demand religious messages, helping them untangle shame, navigate differences in values, and build healthy, mutually satisfying sexual relationships. Conversations about pornography, masturbation, desire, and sexual communication are common parts of my practice, and I strive to create a space where these topics can be explored without judgment.
I also work extensively with women healing from sexual trauma and its impact on partnered intimacy. As an EMDR-certified therapist, I integrate trauma-informed interventions to help clients process painful experiences, reduce fear and avoidance, and reconnect with themselves and their partners. I regularly support men experiencing erectile difficulties, collaborating with medical providers when appropriate while addressing the anxiety, relationship dynamics, and performance concerns that often accompany sexual dysfunction.
Another meaningful area of my practice is supporting LGBTQIA+ clients as they navigate identity development, relationships, faith transitions, and the complexities of coming out. I have had the privilege of walking alongside clients whose experiences range from complete family acceptance to profound loss and estrangement. Witnessing both the resilience and grief that can accompany these journeys has deepened my appreciation for the importance of affirmation, authenticity, and connection.
While I value the diversity of my clinical work, my greatest passion is helping couples rediscover one another. I believe that fulfilling sexual relationships are not built on technique alone but on emotional safety, trust, vulnerability, and intentional connection. Whether couples are rebuilding after betrayal, recovering from trauma, navigating desire differences, or simply wanting to feel close again, I enjoy helping them create relationships where intimacy can flourish.
My work is grounded in the belief that what happens in the bedroom is influenced by everything that happens before a couple ever gets there. This philosophy has inspired the development of Carole’s Bedroom Blueprint™, an integrative model of couples and sex therapy that helps individuals and couples understand the influences shaping intimacy, remove barriers that interrupt connection, and intentionally design relationships where emotional, relational, sensual, and sexual intimacy can flow freely.
