SHARED BACKGROUND

Finding the right therapist—one who truly “gets you”—is vital. Explaining your current or past LDS/Mormon identity and its effects on your life and relationships can be time-consuming, affecting the therapy process. You may not even have any faith or religion related difficulties; however, having a therapist who understands your LDS background can be invaluable.

I work with people across the LDS/Mormon spectrum, from active members to post-Mormons. If asked, I am happy to discuss my own identity related to the LDS faith. Most of my clients never ask, but instead express relief at having finally found a therapist who grasps their religious background and doesn’t push them in any specific religious direction.

WHAT I DO AS A PSYCHOLOGIST

Those I work with frequently describe me as warm, open, caring, non-judgmental and fun! Under the right circumstances and if appropriate, I will incorporate humor and sarcasm into our meetings because it is good to laugh even when talking about life’s difficulties. During our sessions, my goal is to create a safe, comfortable environment where you can be yourself and gain confidence in making decisions that are right for you. If you are a driven individual seeking a therapist who can help you identify practical solutions using evidence-based strategies, I am likely a good fit for you.

My expertise lies in addressing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and feelings of guilt. I’m skilled in assisting clients with career shifts, existential dilemmas, LGBTQ+ identity concerns, religious and relational traumas, mixed-faith marriages, and both personal and professional relationship challenges.
