I’m Dr. Grisel Lopez-Escobar, PhD, a licensed mental health counselor specializing in religious trauma, religious deconstruction, faith crises, and recovery from high-control and high-demand religious environments. I work with adults at many different points in this process. You do not need to have decided what you believe or whether you want to stay or leave in order to begin therapy.

My approach is secular and trauma-informed. I am EMDR trained (Levels I & II) and also draw from CBT, REBT, psychodynamic therapy, positive psychology, and psychoeducation according to the individual needs of each client.

I provide individual online psychotherapy in English, French, and Spanish and am licensed in 17 U.S. states. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcome clients from a wide range of backgrounds and identities.
