Professional Statement

I specialize in supporting individuals and families through the complexities of all kinds of transitions including LDS faith transition and exploration, including those who choose to stay and those who do not. Navigating and processing life’s transitions can deeply impact identity, relationships, and mental health. Your story and your choices deserve to be met with curiosity, compassion, and respect. I also specialize in the complexities of parenting during a faith transition. I offer a space where we can work through the fear, guilt, grief, and hope that often accompany this journey.

Using IFS & parts work, I help clients explore the many internal parts that emerge during lifespan development and identity shifts. Together, we create space for all parts of you – those shaped by religious teachings, cultural norms, personal values, and life experience, to be heard and integrated. My approach allows you to gently process religious trauma.

My clinical work is informed by the qualitative research I have done into family conflict arising from religious differences, giving me an understanding of the rupture, silence, and reconciliation that can affect families across generations. This academic grounding supports my commitment to providing all clients with trauma-informed and evidence-based care. In addition to working as a therapist, I also teach psychology at Utah Valley University and am passionate about educating my clients on important relevant subjects such as child and adult development, brain health and neuroscience.
