Professional Statement

My name is Jenna, I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in CA, CT and UT. I am passionate about collaborating with my clients to life a meaningful and connected life. I believe that people can – and do – evolve. While this evolution can be difficult and humbling at times, it also supports personal and relationship breakthroughs. My primary therapeutic approach is Internal Family Systems (IFS). IFS is a client centered, somatic, non- pathologizing approach. “Somatic” means I value the information your body provides during therapy, for example feelings of tension, emptiness, or lightness. That is all valuable information; I take a whole body approach. “Non-pathologizing” means I see thoughts/beliefs/behaviors as adaptive, not “wrong”. The goal is helping my clients connect with their own wisdom, self trust, and inner guidance. I have found this really important in working with religious trauma. I am also trained in EMDR therapy – I work with every client to use tools that speaks to you. I am not a member or former member of the LDS church. However, I have years of experience working with members and former members. It’s a privilege to support people going through this significant life transition. My hope is to release limiting patterns/beliefs that might be ingrained, and to make room for inner transformation and meaning found even in difficult times. I offer in-person therapy in San Diego (Carlsbad and La Jolla) and teletherapy for clients elsewhere in CA, or in CT or UT. If you feel we might be a good team, feel free to reach out via email or phone.
