Professional Statement

If you’re navigating the complexities of an LDS faith transition, religious trauma recovery, or the weight of perfectionism, you’re not alone. I’m here to support you.

Whether you were born into the faith or joined later, renegotiating your relationship with or stepping away from a high-demand religion is rarely as simple as just moving on. It often brings a profound sense of disorientation and grief. You may feel stuck in an in-between place: no longer fitting into the mold you once did, and yet feeling like a stranger to the rest of the world.

In our work together, you lead the way. While others may have walked similar paths, your internal experience is entirely unique. I’m here to offer a steady hand as your journey unfolds—moving from shame and self-blame toward self-compassion, from isolation to connection, and from a life that may have felt like a pre-written script to a world of wonder and possibility.

Some things we can focus on:

•Autonomy & Self-Trust: Reclaiming your inner compass and learning to honor your own judgment after years of external authority.
•Shedding Shame & Defining Success: Deconstructing inherited shame and deciding which values, traditions, and markers of success you choose to keep.
•Parenting: Navigating the challenges of raising children when the map you were given no longer fits your family’s needs.

I hold a Master’s in Social Work from George Mason University. While my approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, I am also trained in CBT, DBT, and religious trauma recovery. I offer an insider-outsider perspective — one that honors the complexity of your journey. I am committed to practicing in an ethical, culturally sensitive way that is supportive of individuals across the entire spectrum of belief—whether you are staying, leaving, or landed somewhere in between.

I intentionally maintain a limited caseload to ensure each individual I work with receives the dedicated, high-quality care they deserve.
