Professional Statement

I conceptualize psychotherapy from a humanistic approach, which entails holistically understanding your background, identities, strengths, growth areas, interpersonal relationships, goals, values, etc. I strive to create a culturally sensitive, inclusive, and affirming space to facilitate growth and insights. This allows you to implement what you have gained in therapy in your everyday life.

I specialize in the following areas including but not limited to
-Trauma treatment and empowerment
-Emerging adults (18-30 years old)
-Identity exploration and integration
-Working with folx from marginalized communities, including but not limited to
-LGBTQIA+, gender-affirming care
-BIPOC
-First-generation/low-income background
-Immigrant/international background
-Faith crisis/transition
-Chronic health conditions/pain
-Political/collective trauma
-Neurodiversity (Over-excitability, autism, ADHD, giftedness, and twice-exceptional)

My primary therapy approach integrates interpersonal, feminist, compassion-focused, psychodynamic, and acceptance and commitment (ACT) therapies. I strongly believe in intersectionality and root my work in decolonizing psychology and liberation. My presence in the “therapy room” is warm and caring, with a dash of a dark sense of humour. I am collaborative and appreciate your feedback on the therapeutic process. I offer therapy in both English and Cantonese. Mandarin will be supplementary to primarily English/Cantonese sessions.
