I have over 8 years of intensive training, supervision, and clinical experience working with distressed couples and individuals. I’m licensed to serve people living in Colorado and Illinois, and I live in Chicago.

My theoretical orientations are:
EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) for couples
AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) for individuals

EFT gets straight to the heart of the problems that keep couples emotionally disconnected and unfulfilled in their relationships. It places relational pain and turmoil into a negative cycle that I help couples map out and make sense of. From there, I help couples have healing, transformative conversations in our sessions that allow each partner to find new ways of communicating their emotions and needs, and help each partner learn to be emotionally responsive and available to “catch” their partner’s emotions and needs. The end result is renewed safety, security, closeness, and understanding.

AEDP is a form of experiential therapy for individuals that helps us change our relationship to ourselves and our own emotions. It provides a road map to make sense of our emotions, helps us understand why we may struggle to feel things fully (or feel things “too much” to the point of flooding or overwhelm), and why intimacy and closeness with others may be difficult or painful. I work hard to create a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship so that during our sessions, my clients can enter into and process through stuck, painful, confusing emotions and experiences (including traumatic experiences), and come out the other end with a sense of relief, clarity, and self-confidence.

I am a clinical member of ICEEFT (International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples), the AEDP Institute, the ACA (American Counseling Association), the AAMFT (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy), Denver/Boulder EFT, Chicago EFT, and AEDP Chicago.
