Professional Statement

I’m a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience helping people who struggle to feel like they are enough. My primary areas of specialty are sexual health, out-of-control sexual behavior (like unwanted pornography use), sexual dysfunction, anxiety, and perfectionism. I especially love working on these concerns with clients with an LDS background (whether or not you still identify this one), as religious upbringing plays such a huge role in providing early messages about worth, goodness, productivity, and sexuality.

As a recovering perfectionist myself, I can empathize with the struggle to hold high personal standards without burning out or drowning in anxiety. I also have bad news for you: there is no perfect path out of perfectionism. There is only *your* path, which will inevitably be messy, imperfect, and still worth trying.

I am deeply committed to understanding your religious and spiritual beliefs and how they affect your mental health and sexuality (whether for better or for worse). My goal is to help you create a new vision of sexual health–a vision that is uniquely yours, consistent with your values, and free from sexual shame. I also use mindfulness-based and somatic approaches to help you connect with your body and emotions, learning how to feel and accept your feelings (instead of just overthinking your feelings).

I’m LGBTQIA-affirming, kink-friendly, and I use a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach. I also have experience working with clients from ages 5 to adulthood.
