Lisa Hansen is CEO of Flourish Therapy, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit licensed to provide services at the center of LDS/LGBTQIA+ identity in Utah, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. In-person facilities are located in Provo and South Jordan, Utah. Flourish’s 40 therapists provide culturally competent, affordable therapy. More than 300 sessions each month are provided free of charge to clients who do not have insurance. Seventy-five percent of Flourish clients pay $50 or less for their therapy. Flourish Therapy was awarded General Outpatient Clinic of the year in November, 2022 by Extraordinary Options Mental Health. Dr. Hansen was awarded Supervisor of the Year by the Utah Association of Marriage and Family Therapy in May, 2023. She was also named Affirmation International’s Ally of the Year in 2019, and she was awarded the Human Rights Impact Award in June, 2023. Dr. Hansen earned her B.S., M.S., and PhD degrees from Brigham Young University. She is a former member of the Tabernacle Choir. She and her husband wrote the Primary song, “Nephi’s Courage.” Dr. Hansen and her husband are the parents of seven children and 22 grandchildren.
