Professional Statement

I received my PhD in Counseling Psychology from Brigham Young University (BYU) and have work as a licensed psychologist in the state of Utah since then. I worked as a therapist for BYU Counseling and Psychological Services from 2001 to 2017 doing group, individual, and couples counseling with students. In 2017 Lisa took the position as Lead Advocate/Therapist for Sexual Assault Survivor Services at BYU, and I was instrumental in starting the program. I also had a private practice from 2004 to 2023 where I specialized in working with women, trauma survivors, children and adolescents. I have extensive training in working with trauma survivors, particularly those who have experienced sexual trauma, and have a passion for this work. Along with my work at BYU, I have worked part-time for Utah Excel Psychology as an assessment specialist since 2022, providing psychological and learning assessments. I have presented at both national and international conferences on a variety of topics related to the field of psychology.
