Professional Statement

I am the owner and founder of Symmetry Counseling, where I am very passionate in helping people receive services that address their mental, relational, sexual and spiritual health – as well as training therapists to do effective, compassionate work. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University. I have also pursued my certifications as a sex therapist and sex therapist supervisor from the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).

I have been in practice as a mental health professional for almost 30 years, primarily working with a clientele that come from religiously conservative backgrounds around issues of relational health, faith transitions and journeys, and sexuality. I host The Natasha Helfer Podcast and have groups, membership platforms and webinars providing resources and training.

I am an international speaker and I present in both professional and public settings. I have been invited as a guest speaker at several national events and am available for speaking engagements. I have also been interviewed for many podcasts, TV news programs, and newspaper articles.

I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Kansas and Utah as well as an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. I provide therapy, wellness coaching and consulting services depending on your needs.
